One number, one room, one week to set it
Sales Kick-Offs
The start-of-year meeting that sets the target, the message and the energy for a field organisation — content-heavy, fast-paced and unforgiving of a slow room.
A sales kick-off has a job: everyone leaves knowing the number, the story and what changed. That means content density, enablement sessions that actually enable, and enough recognition to make the target feel worth chasing.
The operational risk is the schedule. SKOs run tight, with breakouts, certifications, product demonstrations and one-to-ones stacked across three days. We plan the movement between them as carefully as the content in them.
What this format looks like
- Typical size
- 100 – 1,500 delegates
- Duration
- 2 – 4 days
- Audience
- Field sales, pre-sales, partner managers, marketing, sales leadership
Content density needs room turnaround
Twelve breakouts across three rooms in a day means eleven resets. Turnaround time, room set changes and technical checks between sessions are scheduled explicitly, or the day slips and the last session loses half its time.
Demonstrations that work
Live product demonstrations fail on network, not on software. Wired connections, a dedicated VLAN or a bonded cellular backup, and a recorded fallback rehearsed with the presenter.
Recognition early, not only at the end
Placing recognition on the first evening rather than the last sets the tone for the whole meeting and gives the top performers three days of visibility rather than a send-off.
Regional arrivals from everywhere
Field teams travel from many origins on their own bookings unless someone takes control. A managed travel desk keeps the arrival waves predictable and the costs comparable.
Where it goes wrong
What we look for first on this format.
Every format has a small set of recurring failures. None of them are mysterious; they are just the things that get planned last and matter most.
What you should get out of it
- Every session starting on time with the right room set
- Reliable product demonstrations
- Recognition placed where it changes the mood
- Attendance and certification data captured per delegate
