GenevaWhere international organisations already hold their meetings
Palexpo and the CICG sit inside the densest cluster of international bodies in the world, which is why association and treaty-adjacent congresses keep coming back.
The honest version
Geneva is a specialist destination and worth choosing deliberately. The UN agencies, WHO, WTO, the Red Cross movement and several hundred NGOs are headquartered here, so if your delegates are drawn from that world, the meeting is where they already are and the travel argument makes itself.
It is one of the most expensive cities in Europe to run anything in, and Swiss labour and rigging rules are strict. For a general corporate conference there are better-value answers. For an international association congress, a pharma advisory programme or a finance meeting, the premium usually buys something real.

Operating notes
What actually decides whether Geneva works for you.
Airlift, hotel capacity, ground and season — in that order, and before anyone falls in love with a photograph.
Access and airlift
Geneva Airport (GVA) has strong European coverage and useful long-haul, and sits ten minutes from Palexpo. Zurich is under three hours by rail, Lyon and Milan not much more.
Hotels and capacity
Expensive and finite. Big shows genuinely exhaust the city and push delegates across the French border, which creates a transfer and a customs question rather than just a longer drive.
Ground and distance
Compact and well served. Public transport is free to visitors on a hotel card, which is worth telling delegates because most of them do not know.
Season and calendar
March to June and September to November. Watch the large watch and motor shows, which historically take the entire city.
