The honest version
Lisbon has moved to the front of the European congress rankings in a short time, and the reasons are practical: usable venue capacity, competitive costs, easy airlift and a city that delegates enjoy without needing a programme built around it.
The pressure is on inventory. Hotel supply has not grown as fast as demand, so peak congress weeks are genuinely tight.

- Humberto Delgado (LIS) has strong European coverage plus Americas and Africa links; the airport is unusually close to the city.

- Good quality and value, but capacity is the constraint in peak weeks.

- Short transfers and an easy city to move around. Hills and narrow old-town streets restrict coach access in places.
- 04Season and calendar
- April to June and September to October are best. Major congress weeks remove hotel availability entirely.
