JIExpo and ICE BSD give you real exhibition scale for the region’s biggest consumer market — and traffic decides your entire run of show.
The honest version
Jakarta is where you go when the audience is Indonesian, and that audience is large enough to justify it on its own. JIExpo Kemayoran and ICE BSD both handle major exhibitions, the convention centre downtown handles congresses, and the domestic corporate market runs conventions at a scale most of the region does not.
Traffic is not a caveat here, it is the plan. A twenty-kilometre transfer can take ninety minutes, ICE BSD is well outside the centre, and any programme that moves delegates between a hotel and a venue twice a day is really a logistics programme with content attached. Build the movement plan first and choose the venue second.

Access and airlift
Soekarno-Hatta (CGK) is a major regional hub with growing long-haul. Airport rail helps, but the airport-to-city journey still needs a real time allowance.
Hotels and capacity
Deep and good value across every tier, concentrated in the central business district. Large blocks are straightforward.
Ground and distance
The single dominant constraint. Use the MRT where it reaches, plan waves rather than convoys, and never schedule a hard stage call against a road transfer.
Season and calendar
May to September is the dry season and the safer window. December to February brings heavy rain and localised flooding that can close routes.
